Year-Round Home Decorating Hacks

People spend hundreds of dollars and hours of time decorating for the holidays. Doesn’t it seem silly to do all that for a single month of festivities? Here’s a secret: it doesn’t have to be the holiday season, or even winter, for you to steal some of these cozy decorating ideas.

Wreaths
A wreath with pine boughs and bells has a distinct holiday look to it, but when made with other greenery or neutral colours, it becomes a cute addition to your walls or door no matter the season.

Candles
An elegant display of candles can be just the thing for a holiday-ready dinner table or a cozy entrance console. They can infuse the home with delicious holiday scents, too. Candles, however, are an easy way to add warmth and ambience to a home no matter the season. Either grouped together for impact or used as a solitary accent, they’re a great choice when you want that added element of cozy.

Holiday Lights
You may be used to colourful lights lining the rooftops or strung around a tree, but when used subtly, they can add colour and intrigue year-round. Pile some blue bulbs in a glass vase for a striking centerpiece, or string some small white ones around a room for extra glow.

Stovetop Scents
Have guests coming over? Want to get your home smelling fresh and irresistible, fast? Throw some water, cinnamon sticks and orange peels into a pot and simmer on the stove. Your home will be infused with a warm and welcoming scent in no time. You can use other scents, as well, like rose petals or slices of lemon and lime.
